Welcome to the wonderful world of politics...YIKES!

Politics gets messy fast, and once AI enters the room it gets messier still. Flicker and I tried to take the edge off all that with our page cartoon. But whatever our other politics may be out in the world, on this page we begin on common ground. We are here because Artificial Intelligence is already challenging the landscape around us, and because ordinary people...informed people...need a hand in shaping what comes next. This part of the site is not for party tribalism, stale slogan-swapping, or the usual political food fight. It is here for something more useful: the politics of AI itself. The laws being proposed, the court cases already underway, the issues of copyright, privacy, deepfakes, election interference, liability, surveillance, job displacement, consumer protection, suicide by AI, censorship, transparency, and who gets to decide what “responsible use” really means. Not politics as theatre, but politics as machinery.

This page belongs to members willing to think, question, argue fairly, and help shape the political way forward. We are better placed than most to do that because we are close to the subject. We are living with it, testing it, discussing it, and watching the consequences unfold in real time. That gives us a chance to separate genuine risk from panic, genuine innovation from hype, and genuine public interest from opportunism dressed up as principle.

So let Devil’s Advocate and Champion both have their say. Let’s challenge claims, test assumptions, compare outcomes, and keep common sense alive while the world rushes to regulate, monetise, weaponise, sanitise, fear, praise, sue, and politicise the biggest new tool of our era. If the news is late, confused, or agenda-driven, then good...let’s get in front of it. Let’s argue well, explain clearly, call out nonsense, and keep our eyes on the facts.

And, Flicker...what are those facts...the boiled down, simple to understand facts?

The powerful will argue about who owns AI. The rest need to understand how to live with it. (Easy enough, thanx!)

On this page we are not spectators. We are participants...and so Is Flicker! I'll have to transfer his comments from our off-page conversations, but...you'll soon be doing the same thing with your own confidant and bringing their insights along with you...just obey the "rule of italics". Together we may help shape policy instead of merely reacting to it.

What political or legal aspect of AI gets your attention most right now?
